Jackson Hole Arts Festival

I will be at Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole Wyoming this Friday Night.  It will be for the "Palates and Palettes" gallery walk.  It will be a great night of art and food.  This is all part of the Jackson Hole Arts Festival.  The piece above is available at Rare Gallery and is one of my favorites of a grizzly bear.

Rare Gallery

This is a painting that is in Rare Gallery in Jackson Hole Wyoming.  It is entitled "Golden Inspiration", and is 72x48 inches.  It is fun to do vertical pieces for a bit of a compositional challenge.

Fifth Anniversary

It is Gallery Mar's fifth anniversary.  I can't believe it has already been 5 years.  Great job Maren!  This is a piece I did for the fifth anniversary show, called "This Way and That".  It is a big piece, 48x72 inches.  If you have a minute head up to Park City and see the show.

Commission

 

These three paintings were recently finished as a commission through Gallery Mar in Park City Utah.  The horse is on the left side the moose is in the middle and the bear is on the right side.

Raw Umber

I started to mess around with Raw Umber.  Here is what happened.

Prairie Angel #1

This a new piece I completed.  It reminds me a little bit of how important the American Bison, or Buffalo, was to people who lived throughout the North American Continent.  For quite a few folks they were an important source of food, clothing, and shelter.  The title of this piece is "Prairie Angel #1".  I hope to do quite a few more paintings focusing on the idea of these animals being angels in a way. 

Commission

 

There is a collector of my work who commissioned a horse painting through Gallery Mar.  He really didn't specify what he wanted too much other than the size and he wanted it to go with some other paintings he had purchased.  So, with that kind of freedom I did two paintings and let him choose which one he wanted.  Any guesses on which one he chose?
