Mountain Goats

Here are some Mountain Goats that I painted. The models are nearby up the canyon.

The painting is available if you have interest in white fluffy things that bound around cliffs.

Sculpture

Here is a sculpture by a friend of mine. It was at a show we had last year with John Berry, Rob Colvin, Myself, and Travis Miller (work pictured here). I enjoy how he used the natural rock with thick pieces of iron.

Show Time

Well, tonight is the Show opening. I will be at Gallery Mar chatting and having some treats. It is gallery stroll in Park City so come up and check out the galleries.

Delivery

I delivered new work to Gallery Mar in Park City Utah. The show is already hanging. I will be at the gallery Friday Night to chat and whatnot. It should be a fun time. Maren allways has some good treats and the artwork should be fun to see.

I also have work up at Utah Artists Hands. Pam O'Mara is the owner there and is just a joy to work with.

Getting ready for the show

So today I put some temporary finish on the paintings I am taking up to Park City (Gallery Mar). I am part of a show there with Mary Scrimjeour. I put on a temporary finish or varnish because the paintings really take some time to cure. They may be dry to the touch, but still take some time to dry fully. I paint really thick at times and that takes a while to cure, meaning years. After a few years of living with my art you should put a finishing coat of protective varnish that will help protect the artwork for years to come.

Pictures

So here is an example of what I paint. This is really just a way to figure our how to post a photo. This piece is a preview of an upcoming show at Gallery Mar on July 30, 2010.

The beginning.

So I am trying to keep the world updated on what is going on in the studio. I hope posting to this blog will let you all see what is happening with my art and perhaps some interesting tid bits here and there.

This is the first post and kind of a trial run on how this thing works. I have not really attempted much in this genre of communication so here we go.
