Raw Umber

I started to mess around with Raw Umber.  Here is what happened.

Prairie Angel #1

This a new piece I completed.  It reminds me a little bit of how important the American Bison, or Buffalo, was to people who lived throughout the North American Continent.  For quite a few folks they were an important source of food, clothing, and shelter.  The title of this piece is "Prairie Angel #1".  I hope to do quite a few more paintings focusing on the idea of these animals being angels in a way. 

Commission

 

There is a collector of my work who commissioned a horse painting through Gallery Mar.  He really didn't specify what he wanted too much other than the size and he wanted it to go with some other paintings he had purchased.  So, with that kind of freedom I did two paintings and let him choose which one he wanted.  Any guesses on which one he chose?

Gold Back Bison

This painting is called "Gold Back Bison".  The American Bison is becoming rather symbolic to me.  I like the way this painting reminds me of a woven blanket.

New Bear Painting

Here is a new bear painting called "Three Bruins in Autumn".  I fairly big 48x72.  It is available at Gallery Mar in Park City.

Kimball Arts Festival

I have a show hanging at Gallery Mar in Park City.  The Kimball Arts Festival is going on right outside the gallery door.  If you are up there stop into Gallery Mar, cool off, and see the show.  This painting of a Big Horn Sheep is there.

Summer Light

Last night was the gallery stroll in Park City.  I had a show opening at Gallery Mar.  The show is entitled "Summer Light".  This show is with Jared Davis, a glass artist.  The show looks great with paintings on the wall and glass on pedestals.  If you are up in Park City Utah, stop by Gallery Mar and give it a look see.  This wolf, entitled "On the Move", is in the show.

Critters and a Cause

Come on by to Utah Artists Hands to see some of my artwork.  The show is called "Critters and a Cause", and it will be hanging for he next month or two.  The show has work by the late Steve Salget and myself.  I have quite a few critters there including this moose entitled "Bull Moose with Red Belly".

Preview

My Favorite Place

I am part of a miniature show at Gallery Mar during the Fourth of July Holiday.  The show is entitled "My Favorite Place".  This bear will be part of the show.  The painting is called "Gold Crossing".   I will be at the gallery on July 7th doing a painting demonstration.  Gallery Mar is located up the street from their old location.  The new location is 436 Main Street in Park City Utah.

Untitled Show

I was asked to be in a show Called "Untitled" at the RIO Gallery in Salt Lake City Utah.  It was put together by Namon Bills.  It turned out to be a fun show where those who attended wrote down titles to the different pieces.  Some of the pieces were selected for a traveling show.  This was the piece I did and will be traveling around Utah for the next year.  A lot of my art has been to places I have never heard of in Utah.

Red Pine

Here is one of my latest landscapes.  It is entitled Red Pine.  I found a lot of interest for me in the abstract color and shape in this piece.  This paiting is currently at Utah Artists Hands.  These following pieces were recently purchased from there in Pam O'Mara's 10th anniversary show.
