New Moose

Just finished a new painting of a Moose.  I like how the colors pop in this one.  The Moose is headed to Park City at Gallery Mar.  He should be there for the Labor Day weekend festivities.

Last One

This is the last collaborative piece I did with the Orangutans at Hogle Zoo.  It was first painted with the help of Acara and Eve.  Then I added a buffalo.  The buffalo reference was from the heard out on Antelope Island.  I was able to ride on the Buffalo Round Up a few times and see them up close.  I thought it was a unique way to bring the two different species together.  Who would have ever thought an orangutan would help paint a picture of a buffalo on an island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake.

The Next One

Here is the next painting I did with the orangutans at the Hogle Zoo.  I thought it might be interesting to do a subject that was in keeping with the Utah Part of the ORANGE-UTAHN project.  I like the juxtaposition of the static standing horse with the flowing energy of Acara's and Eve's brush strokes.

Being Framed

I just took the orangutan paintings to be framed today.  Should be a fun show with the Hogle Zoo this Year.

Here is the next installment of the cooperative painting efforts.

The Next Orangutan Painting

Here is the next painting I did with the orangutans at Hogle Zoo.

This one was done with Acara.  She is the daughter of Eli and Eve.  She is 6 years old and seems to really respond to painting.

Orange-Utahn

As I posted in the past, I have had the opportunity of painting with the orangutans at Hogle Zoo.  It was an interesting collaboration with another species.  I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.

Some sad news was that the big male, Eli, had surgery for breast cancer.  He made it through OK and should be well and recovered.

Anyway, I am going to post some before and after photos of the paintings we collaborated on.  Here is the first painting.  It is of the mother orangutan named Eve.

I will post more paintings day by day, so stay tuned.
